Q&A: Toilet Rough In

Question: I purchased a toilet recently and the seller asked what is the rough-in of my bathroom, I don't know that. What is a toilet rough-in? How do you measure it?

Answer: Toilet rough-in is the space between the finished wall up to the center of the drain or the waste pipe. The standard toilet rough-in dimensions are 12 inches but there are also rough-ins measured between 10inches to 14inches. We suggest that before you purchase your toilet you should measure your rough-in so that you are sure that the toilet will fit your bathroom. You may refer to the photos below on how to measure your rough-in.
